“There is nothing more exciting or motivation than working with new materials especially when you combine them with what you know.
"Phoebe - Goddess' was inspired by a number of things but the underlying factor was Gustav Klimps use gold in his paintings which spurred me to experiment with bronze pigment powder. As a avid fan of Rita Angus, her painting of Rutu came into play after my imagination caught hold onto some wonderful photography of full moons. Soon the idea started to take shape and warped into ‘Phoebe - Goddess’.
This painting has become a Tryptic - that is, one of three that hang side by side to make the complete story. The 2nd painting is "Tryptic Deer" which is hung to the right of this painting and the 3rd is still being painted and can be viewed on my Facebook page or here under 'Work in Progress'.
Each painting measures 560mm wide X 765mm high (including the frame)
